TRUE & NEGLECTED APPARITION
TRE FONTANE, ROME 1947
Bruno Cornacchiola (pronounced: Com ah kee o la) was born in 1913 in Rome. He had a drunk for a father and a mother who did not look after his body or soul. At 14 he ran away from home and a wonderful woman named Maria Farsetti found him and saw to some religious education and his first communion. By the time he married at 23 he had fallen away from the Church and had even grown to hate it. He became a communist and fought against Franco in Spain, where he met another communist, who was also a Protestant. From him he was taught to hate the Catholic Church, the Pope, and the Virgin Mary. The Lutheran told him that the Pope was the beast of Apocalypse. In time, as these ideas corrupted his brain he vowed to destroy the Catholic Church and to kill the Pope. Bruno tried to force his wife to become Lutheran. She said she would if he would first make the Nine First Fridays. She thought that if he did he would change his heart. He did but did not change.
By 1947 he had plotted to kill the Pope and had gotten a job in the train system as the best way to do it. On April 12, 1947 he took his children to the park at Three Fountains behind the Basilica of Saint Paul's Outside The Wall. Although originally a holy place it became a meeting place for Italians to commit adultery and other sex crimes. As the children played he sat down to write a document against the Virgin Mary.
From Chapter One of Msgr. Fausto Rossi's Book "The Virgin of the Revelation" we read what happened.
Saturday, April 12, 1947
That afternoon the sun seemed to dance among the eucalyptus leaves on the open space in front of the Trappists' Abbey in the Roman quarter known as "Three Fountains" After the winter, nature was awakening with buds shining. It was the octave of Easter. The surrounding land, in its different aspects, was picturesquely harmonized: pasture land, sunny fields, dense thickets and woods and open and rocky surfaces.
Bruno Cornacchiola with his three small children, arrived there and sat on a wall on the edge of the woods. "This place will do just as well ", he thought to himself. The destination previously chosen was the beach at Ostia, but once he had arrived at the Ostiense station, the train had already left. Not wanting to wait more than an hour for the next train, he changed his plans. He called to his children who had wandered off. "Gianfranco, Carlo, Isola -you may play ball, but don't go too far away. I shall stay here to reflect and write on the topic I intended to work on." They went away immediately, disappearing and reappearing among the trees, shouting happily. This man, a Protestant agitator at that time, was going to develop a theme against Our Virgin Mary. His writing must be violent and arrogant and at the same time convincing. To this purpose he had brought along a folder and the Bible. He jotted down his first sentences which denied, first of all, the privileges granted by God to Mary, His mother. Bruno wrote, "Our Lady is not a virgin, is not immaculate, is not the "Lady of the Assumption." Meanwhile some voices distracted him. It was his children shouting:
"Papa, we lost our ball -come and help us find it." He stood up and then with Carlo, the oldest, started searching the grounds. Isola walked away to pick up flowers, while Gianfranco sat apart thumbing through the pages of a magazine. "Carlo and I," Cornacchiola recounted later, "descended on the slope towards Laurentine Road looking for the ball, but we did not find it.
In order to be sure that the little one had not moved from the spot assigned to him, I was calling to him; and he answered. However, at one point, I could not hear him even though r raised my voice, there was no answer. As I was worried, I climbed up the hill again. I approached the bushes near the grotto where I had left him but did not see him. I then shouted louder: "Gianfrance, where are you?" But, I got no answer. More and more worried, I looked frantically for him among the bushes and the rocks. Finally I found my child kneeling down at the entrance of a grotto, on the left side as you stand in front of it.
His hands held in prayer and his eyes staring intensely inside, the boy was smiling and whispering something. I moved closer to him and I distinctly heard these words: "Beautiful Lady! ... Beautiful Lady! ..."
"What are you saying, Gianfranco?" I asked. "What are you doing?" I thought he was playing a child's game, since nobody at home had ever taught him hat position and he was not baptized.
Then I called: "Isola, come down and explain something to me." She came and I asked: "What is the matter? So you see anything?" "No, Papa!" she answered and at that same moment she fell on her knees at the right side of her little brother. The flowers fell out of her hands, while her eyes were fixed at the inside of the grotto. She, too, was whispering: "Beautiful Lady! ...Beautiful Lady!..."
Cornacchiola continued: "More irritated than ever, I was asking myself the reason why my children were acting so strangely. On their knees, they were looking enchanted toward the inside of the cave, repeating those same words. I called Carlo, who was still looking for the ball. "You come here, too," I begged him. "Esplain to me what your brother and sister are doing in that strange position. Is this a game you have been planning together?"
"What game are you talking about," he remarked. "I am not familiar with it and I don't know how to play it!" No sooner had he spoken the words than he too fell on his knees at the right of Isola, his hands joined in prayer, and his eyes focused on a particularly fascination spot of the grotto, repeating these same words, "Beautiful Lady!..."
"This is too much!" I shouted. "You too are making fun of me!" I couldn't stand this any longer and with my nerves shattered: "Carlo," I commanded, "get away from there." But he didn't budge. I tried to lift him, but I couldn't. He seemed to be made of lead. I was frightened. Fearful, I went near my little girl. "Get up, Isola." I enticed her, "don't act like Carlo." She didn't answer. I tried to move her, but without success. Terrified in noticing their pupils dilated, their pale faces, as if they were in ecstasy, I hugged my smallest one saying, "come on, get up," How could I have lost so much strength in my arms? And then, "What's happening here?" I exclaimed, "Is there witchcraft or devils in this grotto?" And instinctively I said: ':"Whoever you are, should you even be a priest, come out!" I entered into the cave, well determined to fight off whoever was there, but the grotto was empty.
"Actually it was the moment of maternal chastisement coming from Mary who had felt compassion for that wayward son," as Father Milana wrote.
[At a short distance from this spot, at the foot of the hill, stands St. Paul's Church. Paul, once a persecutor of Christians, then apostle for the people after his conversion at Christ appearing to him. St. Paul was martyred at this spot during Nero's time. His head, cut off by a sword and fallen to the ground, bounced three times and prodigiously water sprang out from the three places. The section was thus called "Three Fountains". Bruno Cornacchiola, another persecutor of the Church, now near the place of the apostle's martyrdom, was being called to become a defender of the Faith, through Mary, the Mother whom he wanted to insult on that very day consecrated to Her, Saturday, the Octave of Easter.
O mysterious plan of Divine Love! There will be a day, and this has already happened, that a crowd of believers will come from every part of the world and, with their ardent supplications and their solemn hymns of praise, will give the exact image of a community walking toward our Father.]
More distressed than ever, Cornacchiola entered into the grotto, the entrance of which is at the same ground level. He wanted to find out who was exercising such mysterious attraction on his children.
To his surprise, he saw only the bare and squalid rock. He then came out in a state of despair and weeping convulsively, he raised his arms and eyes towards the sky and exclaimed, "God, save us!"
"No sooner bad I uttered my invocation," he added, "when I suddenly saw two pure white hands moving toward me and I felt they were lightly touching my face. I had the sensation that something was pulled from my eyes. At that moment I felt a certain pain and I found myself in the deepest obscurity." But little by little the darkness receded, letting a faint light filter through, gradually brighter and denser so as to illuminate the whole Grotto. "At this point," Cornacchiola continued, "I could neither see the cave nor what was inside, but I was enveloped by an unusual joy."
At that moment of mysterious bewilderment during which he was uplifted from earth to the wonderful threshold of eternity, to the brightest point, he had the vision of a young woman, sweet and still, wrapped within a golden light. Bruno gazed at her, attracted and overcome by such fascinating beauty, drawn by that light which, although so intense, did not hurt his eyes, but overwhelmed him supernaturally. Still unaware, he did not know yet that he was going to see the Queen of Heaven who had chosen him to be the instrument of spreading Her divine message of prayer and penance among humankind. She was wearing a brilliant white tunic, gathered at the waist with a pink sash, the two ends of which reached her knees. Her hair was black, pulled back to her head. Some of it showed under the green veil that covered her from head to foot like a beautiful royal mantle. Her bare feet, showing from under the dress, were firmly set on a tufous rock, which was also glowing from her light. In her right hand she was holding a gray book pressed to her breast, Her left hand over it. The vision itself had already aroused in him a state of joyous ecstasy, but above all, it washer admirable face that fascinated his eyes and heart.
One could say that all beauties of human life merged in that face: the innocent candor of youth, the vagueness and grace of virginity, the majestic dignity of sublime maternity. In fact, Cornacchiola was to say later: "He who experienced the exceptional joy of resting his eyes on such a heavenly beauty would only want death in order enjoy such beauty forever."
I saw that the beautiful lady was slowly moving her left hand and was pointing to something at her feet. I looked, and on the ground I saw a black cloth which held a broken cross,"
Cornacchiola thought that the black cloth, similar to a torn vestment, along with the broken cross, symbolized the clerical vestments and other distinguishing signs that many religious people have discarded.
"My first impulse," he went on, "was to cry out, but I could not utter a sound." At that moment, almost offering the book She was holding in her hand, the apparition said:
"I am She who is with the Holy Trinity. I am Virgin of the Revelation. You have persecuted me, enough now. Enter into the heavenly fold, which is the Heavenly Court On Earth. God's' promise is and remains unchanged: you are saved for having observed the First Nine Fridays dedicated to the Sacred Heart. You observed them prompted by your faithful loving spouse before you started on your erring ways."
At these words, Bruno was awed at first, then he felt as if he were suspended, almost immersed in a state of happiness out of this world. Meanwhile an un-definable, mysterious perfume flooded the whole place, blanketing the dirty earth that had been contaminated there by the squalid encounters of sinful people.
After the introductory words, the heavenly Lady talked for a long time to the son who was about to return to God. One part of her talk was addressed to him and to the faithful, and the other contained a secret message for the Holy Father: Then She continued:
"I want to give you absolute proof of the divine realty which you are experiencing, so that you will exclude any other motive for this encounter, evil motivation included. This is the sign: Every time you meet a priest in church or in the street, approach him and address him with these words: 'Father I must talk to you.' If he answers: 'Ave Maria! - My son, what do you want?', beg him to stop because he is the chosen one. Tell him what your heart dictates and obey him.
"In fact, he will direct you to another priest by saying, 'He is the one for you.' Afterwards you will go to the Holy Father, the Supreme shepherd of all Christians, and give him My message personally. The one that I will point out to you will take you to the Pope. Some people to whom you relate this vision will not believe, but let that not disturb you,"
After these words, maternally benign and serenely said, the enchanting Lady turned, showing Her green mantle. Slowly she moved in the direction of St. Peter's Basilica.
Bruno, being ecstatic, did not move for a few moments. The Virgin had lowered her compassionate glance on his poverty to give him guidance, strength and comfort.
The Dominican theologian Father Cordovani states that the title "Virgin of the Revelation" is not only new and wonderful for the Mother of God, but also highly theological. In fact, it confirms all privileges based on the revealed Word and attributed to Her throughout the centuries. "The Most Holy Mother," Cornacchiola stated, "has been my unsurpassed teacher who gave me a solid catechetical education and helped me witness to it." Therefore, after greeting him with a sweet smile, She said:
"YOU PERSECUTE ME. ENOUGH NOW!
ENTER INTO THE HEAVENLY FOLD, THE HEAVENLY COURT ON EARTH."
Thus he was shown the only way to salvation, the way he had abandoned the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church. Helped by the ministry of this authentic society, willed by Christ, his internal confusion together with his pride and obstinacy disintegrated and he began making great strides walking speedily on the path of Truth: As light floods a person without hurting him, as dew nourishes the soil without disturbing it, so the exceptional apparitions of the Virgin Mary lit up his intellect and reinforced his will, without altering his personal characteristics.
His impetuous temperament still remained with him but it was directed to the gospel values and activity. First of all, he recognized his sinfulness and turned to her, the Immaculate, for forgiveness and strength for his future mission in life. Knowing what her Son went through for sinners, the Blessed Virgin persistently asks everyone to pray and to recite the Rosary.
"ALWAYS PRAY AND RECITE THE ROSARY DAILY FOR THE CONVERSION OF SINNERS AND THE NON-BELIEVERS AND FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY. THE HAIL MARYS THAT YOU SAY WITH FAITH AND LOVE ARE AS MANY GOLDEN ARROWS THAT PIERCE THE HEART OF JESUS."
The Mother of the Catholic Church, the hope and anchor of salvation for the entire world, emphasizes the special intention of prayer with her words: "For the conversion of sinners and non-believers and for Christian Unity."
It is true that each prayer must be directed to Christ, the only mediator, but Mary is a source of grace because She is the Mother of Divine Grace. When a child wants to hug his father, the latter bends down to him and picks him up in his arms. But if the child asks to be picked up by his mother in order to go to his father, it does not mean that he loves the father less.
To our Blessed Mother we are all children and by our prayers we ask her help to grow closer to Jesus. Prayer is said to be like the weapons that bring us to victory. Then why not pray for the many who suffer spiritual infirmity and for our brothers and sisters belonging to various denominations so that the hoped for unity may be reached?
As a reward for those who listen to Her maternal message, the Virgin promises heavenly favors:
"WITH THIS SOIL OF SIN I SHALL WORK POWERFUL MIRACLES FOR THE CONVERSION OF UNBELIEVERS."
As it was with the water at Lourdes, so it is with the touch of this Grotto soil. Where previously sin was committed, now it was sanctified by the presence of the Mother of God, where physical and spiritual miracles take place. But the miracles that take place here are mostly spiritual. "If only we could put on paper a small portion of the feelings, of the spiritual resolutions that the Holy Virgin brought forth from thousands of hearts that stopped in front of the gate of the Grotto of the Miracle, we would certainly be very proud to have written beautiful pages of the glory of the Mother of God. But secrets of grace remain hidden, coveted jealously in great silence," Cardinal Garlier stated.
In her benevolence she also wanted to reveal her Son in the mysteries of her intimate life linked with the adorable Trinity:
"MY BODY COULD NOT PERISH AND DID NOT PERISH. MY SON AND THE ANGLES CAME TO CLAIM ME AT THE MOMENT OF MY DEATH."
At the "Three Fountains", then, our Lady makes the prodigal son savor the comforting message that foretells the dogma of her Assumption. While Pope Pius IX received from the Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes the confirmation of the Immaculate Conception four years after the definition of this dogma, unexpectedly the Virgin herself gave a trolley conductor of Rome an indication of Her Assumption. Mary's glorious body and soul allowed her to have fullness - perfection unknown to the beatified. A soul without a body is not complete in its human nature. The body is the element that permits a normal relationship with the cosmic world and with other men and women. Through her glorious body, Mary herself is able to make direct contact with us and with the world. This explains her frequent apparitions and her numerous and miraculous interventions, extraordinary indeed, but not always necessarily needing God's intervention to materialize. Because of her being capable of physical presence, we recognize that the Virgin is nearer to us; whenever praying to her, we will be reassured of the truth of Bruno Cornacchiola's statement:
"He who finds Mary finds Jesus: the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He finds life and grace in the Church of Salvation which is the mystical Body of Christ, and finds Mary Mother of the Church."
The apparition has received all local church approval and even Popes have gone to Three Fountains to pray to Our Lady of the Revelation. Pope Paul VI wrote an Encyclical Letter calling Mary the woman of Revelation, Chapter 12.
Bruno found the priest just as Our Lady promised, Father Mario Stoggia. On Mary 30. 1947 Bruno had another vision asking for sisters to pray for the non-believers in Rome. On December 9, 1949 Bruno gave the knife to Pope Pius XII that he was going to use to kill him. "Weeping, I handed him the knife on which I had engraved: 'Death to the Pope." On May 12, 1956 construction began on the shrine in the grotto. A statue was made of Our Lady and Pope Pius
XII blessed it.
In 1982 on February 23rd Our Lady again appeared to Bruno:
"Here I want a home-sanctuary dedicated to Me with My new title of Virgin of the Revelation, Mother of the Church. My home will be open to all so they all may enter into the house of salvation and be converted. Here the thirsty and the lost will come to pray. Here they will find love, understanding and consolation, the true meaning of life. Here, in this grotto, where I have appeared several times, will be a sanctuary for expiation, like a purgatory on earth.
"It will have a gate, with the significant name" Gate of Peace". All will have to enter through it and greet each other with the greeting of peace and unity. "May God bless us and the Virgin protect us."
On April 12, 1982 almost ten thousand people were present at the Concelebrated Mass in the new sanctuary and witnessed the sky and sun change colors and a large white ball came down to the grotto. Even the Vatican's Secretary of State was there and saw it. Our Lady came to give a message to Bruno for the Holy Father. Part of the message said that an attempt on the Pope's life would be made but Our Lady would protect him. The following month the Pope was shot but the bullet changed direction in mid air and missed his heart.
At the request of the Virgin, Bruno founded SACRI to evangelize non-Catholics and ex-Catholics. In the beginning it was only Bruno giving lessons on the Sacraments, the Church and Mary. Today it has grown to many countries. Many miracles have occurred at Three Fountains to support the messages and the work of Bruno. Our Lady called a man who hated the Church back to that same Catholic Church, which She called, the Heavenly Court On Earth. She called a man who hated the Pope back to unity with that same Pope, whom She called the Supreme shepherd of all Christians. She did all this at Three Fountains, the place where Saint Paul was martyred, another man who was persecuting the Church before God called him.
Because I worked many years as an evangelist for the Church, it saddens me that many evangelists are not using this story to bring people back to the faith. Because I have worked for 15 years with the Holy Father to bring about Christian Unity, it saddens me that more Catholics are not using this story to bring about Christian Unity. In the English speaking world (to my knowledge) there is only one book on this miracle and it has almost no distribution in Catholic Book Stores or Churches. That book is "The Virgin of the Revelation - Tre Fontane - Roma" by the "Shrine of "Virgin of the Revelation, Mother of the Church", 36 Chittering Rd, Bullsbrook, Western Australia, 6084. It is sold for $8.95. All the quotes from this report are taken from that book.
I have an email friend, who sent to me this book. He also went to Tre Fontane and sent to me a Statue and holy card with the soil of Tre Fontane. Without this help I would not have even know about Tre Fontane, approved by the Church and honored by three popes. This is very sad indeed. Let us now correct this sad situation. Our True Lady is talking, let us spread Her messages.
