Why Allow Non-Catholics in a Catholic Nation?
Popes in the past have stated that there is no room for un-truth with truth. In Catholic Nations of the past heresy has been tried by the State and often used to get rid of enemies of the state. You would conclude that the Church wants all to be Catholic and therefor there should be no one in a Catholic Nation that is not Catholic. But this does not follow the history of the Popes of the Church. Even at the time of Constantine the Great, who tried to ban all Pagan Religions, the Pope insisted that you cannot force people to become Catholics. In the time of the Spanish inquisition the Pope took boatloads of Jews into Rome when they were kicked out of Spain and would not be accepted in any other country.
Like America when it was a good Nation, we cannot refuse those who want to be free of immoral laws and want to come to our nation. Read the parable of the good Samaritan and remember that we must love our enemy. We also cannot remove people from their homes who have lived long in a Nation that now votes to become Catholic.
How then do we protect our children from the very clever influence of well written or talked lies about our own Church or about unsubstantiated claims make by others? The answer is simple. Simply include Churches in the law of free speech (See section Freedom of Speech - section c).
No Freedom of speech shall allow anyone to tell untruths about anything or anyone. No one can damage the reputation of another by public speech even if what he says is true unless that truth must be known to protect others.
Because of laws in other nations related to separation of Church and State, Churches are exempt from the laws of truth in promotion of their Religions. In our Nation Religions will not be exempt but can be tried for an untruth. One example is the revision of history told about the Spanish inquisition, where Protestants claim thousands of Jews were put to death for no other reason than being Jews. This is not true. Only six people were put to death who were Jews claiming to be converted Catholics so that they could spy on Catholic Armies and pass that information on to the Moors who they traded with. In truth if a non-Catholic religion could not lie or use force it could not long exist against the truth of our Church. The Protestant and Moslem Nations of the past were created by force, destruction, and the executions of priests, nuns and Catholics. It was the exiled Catholics of England that wrote the Douay-Rheims version of the Bible in English when in France. In Moslem countries (even those who allow other Religions to exist) you cannot hold a good job without being Moslem and no Moslem can convert to another Religion without being executed. Most do not even allow Bibles in the country.
Without the tool of untruths non-Catholics could not survive long in a Catholic Nation. If a Protestant said that he believed that the Bible is the only Rule of Faith he believed in, he could not be tried for an untruth. However, if he said that the Bible says it is the only rule of faith, he could be tried for an untruth since the Bible actually says the opposite. If he said that Catholics worship Mary he could be tried because Catholics do not.
Cults can easily be banned because cults use methods that limit ones ability to make judgements about truth, and this is harmful to people and the nation. There are laws in France, Germany and Italy against cults now, and these are good laws. These countries felt that cults who use restricted information, psychological control of victims, etc. are harmful to the country because once controlled to such a degree these victims will do anything they are told without the freedom of a clear conscience.
To believe should not be against the law, but to lie even for religion should be and this would also include Catholics and Catholic cults.
