Why a Democracy?

The very reason for governments is to keep the peace and to protect people from people so that all may pursue peace and happiness. Government is for the people. Democracy in itself is a poor type of government in that people will always vote for something easy or free and not for the best thing. What would happen if we could vote for our own father? What would happen if men could vote for many wives? The best example of a pure democracy is an Island of only 100 people. One family of five on the Island is different. Maybe they are black or midgets. In a pure democracy the other 95 people could vote to eliminate them. Under written law, all have the same rights and even the majority cannot change that.

Nonetheless, in the end the people should have the final say in everything, even to eliminate the entire government. The complete change of a government should not be done easily and therefore should be more than just a 50% vote of the people. But regarding who represents the people in different regions, in the end the people should make the final choice by popular vote but if more than two people run for office, someone like Clinton could be elected with only 30% of the vote. There must never be more than two people running for an office so that he gets a majority of the vote.

Senators should be known by the people and therefore each Senator should come from a district small enough for all the people of that district to get to know him without any promotional campaign. Two candidates should simply publish there background, family, education, work history, religious beliefs, and political knowledge. No one shall say what they will do if elected. If you have good morals you will do good things. One should never vote on what someone says, but on what someone has done. For me, I would never allow anyone to say what they would do if elected. Then no one could vote for their own profit.
